NOTE: This position requires pre-planning work with the current volunteer staff leading into 2012, when the position will be evaluated for consideration as a part-time position pending funding, if available. Until then, this position will be on a volunteer basis

BakitWhy.com is looking for a seasoned and motivated individual to be a strong part of an exciting new addition to the BW family. The Assistant Editor, BW News will contribute timely and compelling national and international news content with a team of content producers.

Requirements: 

- Primary contributor of daily short-form news articles for Bakitwhy News
- Implement and contribute to overall content strategy for news-related components of BakitWhy
- Stay on top of current news relevant to the Filipino American community and beyond, both national (U.S.) and International

Qualifications: 

- Education in management or journalism, or similar 2 years of experience
- Publishing/Editor experience
- Experience in the use of online content management systems (Drupal preferred)
- Established experience in using social networks to promote personal and/or business branding

Time Committment: 
15+ hours per week
